Atlantic tradition, authentic flavour
In the heart of verdant Galicia, where fertile soil and the Atlantic climate merge, a thousand-year-old tradition is experiencing a revival: the culture of Galician cider. An ancient drink that has been reinvented today with a unique character, blending traditional knowledge, innovation, and a profound respect for the land.
Galician cider is not just a drink: it is a driving force for sustainable rural development, a means of preserving fruit biodiversity, and an open door to local tourism. Every sip evokes memories, landscapes, and a horizon full of possibilities.
Villa de A Estrada
It is regarded as the cider capital of Galicia, featuring several traditional cider houses, many apple orchards, and its own cider festival.
Pazo de Oca
Pazo de Oca is undoubtedly the most iconic of Galicia’s mansions. The gardens are open to visitors, and their layout, dating from the 1720s, was inspired by and reinterprets the French landscaping tradition. They are made up of separately designed areas, each with its own personality. The baroque play of perspectives and the flow of water combine with granite and unusual plant species.
Pazo de Oca belongs to the Ducal House of Medinaceli Foundation and is part of the Camellia Route. A journey from the north to the south of Galicia visiting 12 public and private manor houses and gardens. Nearly 8,000 varieties of camellias in gardens linked to Galicia’s historical heritage.
